Anicorn Watches is at the center of a three-way collaboration with NASA and gaming legend Hideo Kojima’s Kojima Productions.
Named after the studio’s digital astronaut mascot, Space Ludens, the collection of four editions center around a watch inspired by Ludens’ Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA) Creative Suit, the creation of which has been overseen by Luden’s original designer, Yoji Shinkawa, and is approved to feature the NASA logo debossed on its dial.
The watch takes on a ‘mecha space armor’ aesthetic with instruction text emblazoned on the 316 stainless steel case and bracelet, while the Kojima Productions motto “From Sapiens to Ludens” is inscribed on the bezel.
Anicorn are supplying the watch with both a stainless steel bracelet and a ‘carbon fiber’ pattern leather strap, while a sapphire crystal caseback reveals the Miyota 8215 automatic movement inside.
The Rare Edition, priced at $1,540 USD, of the watch is limited to 100 pieces and offered with a wearable 1:1 Ludens skull mask in carbon fiber, created to ‘movie props standard’, while a further 500 watches will be offered as a Limited Edition with an individually numbered metal plate, priced at $940 USD.
The Space Ludens collection is rounded off with a Ludens Sacoche, $125 USD, created by outdoor gear company, Syzygy, and inspired by the Ludens carrier and a Space Ludens NASA Tee, priced at $68 USD.
The Kojima Productions x NASA x Anicorn Watches Space Ludens collection drops via Anicorn Watches at 8AM on September 27.
